Off the Beaten Path .... but IMPORTANT: Walk in Ajax to End Human Trafficking August 17, 2013

Hello Everyone,

This request is a little unusual for my blog, but I have been asked to pass this on by a holy, reverent, and Catholic priest I know in the Archdiocese. I hope some of you will consider this and pass on the word.

A business, called CandlePledge that operates out of Ajax, Ontario, makes beeswax bricks and candles. It can be found at www.candlepledge.org. Considering beeswax candles are the true candle preferred for the Latin Mass, it might be worthwhile to stop by (hint, hint). In seriousness, this business is sponsoring a walk that covers a serious sin of the Culture of Death in our world today, and wants to aid in combatting it.

CandlePledge is sponsoring a walk in Ajax, Ontario, that is called the "Walk for Children: Raising funds to rehabilitate child sex trafficking victims." It takes place Saturday August 17, 2013 at Rotary Park in Ajax. They plan to donate all proceeds to the Somaly Mam Foundation, that aids and empowers victims of sex trafficking.

One can find a poster for the event here on the Somaly Mam website: http://www.somaly.org/event/walk-children. In order to get a pledge form, it is best to contact by phone or to email CandlePledge directly on their site by e-mail here: http://www.candlepledge.org/contact-us/. Unfortunately, I cannot post the pdfs of the pledge form or the poster here in the blog so please use the links provided to get the poster and obtain a pledge form from CandlePledge.

Please consider this as an act of Catholic Charity and solidarity, in line with our current's Holy Father's encouragement and Papacy.

Pax Tibi Christi, Julian Barkin.
