MAJOR ULTIMATE ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!! SOLEMN LATIN MASS WITH HIS EMINENCE THOMAS CARDINAL COLLINS!!!! SUN OCT 30, 2016 AT ST MICHAEL'S CATHEDRAL, 2PM, TORONTO, ONTARIO!!!

[UPDATE 27/9/16: I have been informed by the organizers, St. Patrick's Gregorian Choir, that the Mass time is now changed to 2pm.]

Hello everyone.

I come bearing great news for the Archdiocese of Toronto, news of the most paramount, historical and liturgical importance.

We are blessed to have His Eminence, Thomas Cardinal Collins, as our spiritual shepherd and archbishop for the Archdiocese of Toronto. Pastorally, he frequently participates in events around the diocese, especially those involving the future of our Catholic Church in numerous youth and young adult events/ministries. Further, our Eminence has been a tried and true defender of "T"radition including Church doctrine and moral issues. His Eminence, once again, will be demonstrating to his flock, his formidable leadership and reverence for Christ, in regards to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

I am pleased to announce the upcoming Solemn High Mass in Thanksgiving and Celebration of the Tenth Anniversary of the founding of St. Patrick’s Gregorian Choir, Toronto, in 2006, on the Feast of Christ the King (EF), by Surinder S. Mundra, Music Director and organist.  In the past 10 years Surinder has organized several such Masses throughout the Archdiocese of Toronto and outside the Archdiocese of Toronto, in churches such as St Peter's, downtown, St Paul's Basilica, and St Patrick's Toronto, to name a few.

This Solemn High Mass on the Feast of Christ The King, according to the liturgical calendar for the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite, will be in the presence of His Eminence Thomas Cardinal Collins, Archbishop of Metropolitan Toronto, at the newly renovated, St. Michael’s Cathedral in Toronto (65 Bond Street), On Sunday, October 30th. 2016 at 2:00 pm.

This Mass, is highly significant! Never before in the history of the Archdiocese of Toronto since Vatican II, has there been a Latin Mass, even a Low Mass, in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite, offered at the Cathedral, the seat of the Archbishop of Toronto.

Assistance will be provided by the seminarians of our Archdiocese, studying at St Augustine's Seminary, for numerous serving roles. The master of ceremonies, has asked me to be a part of this Solemn High Mass as I have been involved with St. Patrick's Gregorian Choir's organized Masses since October 2011.  At this time there is no need for additional altar serving assistance, unless a request is made by the organizers for more help. If such a request is needed, I will be happy to broadcast such here on S.U.D.

At this, their 10th Anniversary Solemn High Mass, St. Patrick’s Gregorian Choir will provide beautiful and sacred liturgical music under the direction of  their choir master, Surinder S. Mundra

If you are interested in helping to defray the printing costs for Mass Booklets, and any other necessary expenses, you may contact the choirmaster of St. Patrick`s, Surinder Mundra, at 416 731 4485, who is organizing this Solemn High Mass and compiling material for, and overseeing, the printing of the booklets and other liturgical requirements.

Finally, let it be noted that this liturgical event stands for more than just a big "showing" of the Latin Mass. The fact that the presence of His Eminence at this Solemn High Mass in his cathedral seat, will be a pivotal part of this liturgy. Also, that he asked for the organizers, St Patrick's Gregorian Choir and its director, to reach out to the seminarians, and others of particular note for this special occasion, speaks great volumes.

In this holy offering of the Latin Mass, his extension of participation to the seminarians, and choice of participants involved in other avenues of the Mass (including myself,) His Eminence has sent a direct and clear message in the Church and to the world:

What is happening here, in this upcoming Solemn Latin Mass at St. Michael's Cathedral, is vital to the liturgical and spiritual leadership of the Church. The Latin Mass/EF itself is a vital part of not only our Church's past history, but also in today's culture of the Church. Further, it is a part of the future of the Church as well, for both clergy and laity, as is being shown in the inclusion of the seminarians (and myself.) Regardless of whether the seminarians do both forms of the Roman Rite or not after their ordination, this Mass is an example to them, the Archdiocese of Toronto, and to the whole Church that the Holy Mass should be sacred and reverent, and strike at the heart and soul of every human being, uplifting them to greater things in this world and especially, the next in the afterlife.

In addition, with regards to the Holy Mass of either form of the Roman Rite, laity and clergy, especially those in positions of leadership surrounding the sacred liturgy, from altar server to celebrant, must show in action: The Joy of the Gospel; fraternal charity for their fellow Catholics and non-Catholics; an absence of hypocrisy, jealousy, elitism, rubrical obsession-ism, and contempt for others; and MUST bring the New Evangelization to our brothers and sisters in Christ, and to those who have never concretely experienced that Gospel, as a result of the Mass.

In summary, participating himself in this Mass, holding it in the Cathedral he presides over, as our spiritual shepherd for Toronto, and in the carefully planned organization of this Mass including all its participants, His Eminence has clearly made those statements above and is carrying out the wishes of the Church and its Holy Fathers. In doing so, THIS IS THE TRUE FACE OF TRADITIONAL CATHOLICISM!

I end this announcement by asking of you, everyone ... Catholics of all stripes and devotion ... those musically inclined, ... non-Christian and curious onlookers ... I encourage you to come and see what is to be one of the most historical events ever in our modern Church history in this Archdiocese of Toronto, under one of the most prominent leaders of our Church, his Eminence Thomas Cardinal Collins. Besides the specticality of such an event, it will be such a sacred, holy, reverent and powerful experience for all of our senses. It will truly leave you breathless, and for those of you of the Catholic faith, it will inspire you to embrace the Love and Mercy of the Lord, from this Jubilee of Mercy onward.

Pax Tibi Christi, Julian Barkin, sole author of Servimus, and veteran server for higher level Masses in the Extraordinary Form since October 2011.

Can't Believe I'm Going Rad Trad Here ... Ashamed of PC Leader Patrick Brown as he Betrays his Catholic Faith on Facebook (TM).

Ugh.

You know, I loathe to do this. I hate doing anything resembling what the Radicals Misrepresenting Traditionalists do. However, sometimes, for the sake of your fellow brother and sisters in Faith, so they can properly act out their faith, you must proclaim something public ally.

Actually, no this is different from what the RMTs do. They use their blogs to lie and slander and destroy the Church from within to fit their puritanical views. Me, I am just heartily disappointed, sad, angry, and hurt quite deeply. More and more, I begin to wonder if there are few if any True Catholics left in the Church, who TRULY obey Holy Mother Church, where everyone just gives her fake lip service.

Once again, as a young adult engaging my vocation to marriage fully (with plans for a family in future,) I am seriously now seeing many "leaders" in my life fall like dominoes, with all their evil acts on display, and how they disobey the Gospel and Church, or act like hypocrites who say they Love her and truly hate Her, Latin Mass or not. These once "heroes" end up being cowards, villains, or not the people I thought they were. Priests, laity, acquaintances in Faith ... and now secular politics.

I must thus inform you of a radical turn in the direction of the Ontario Progressive Conservative party, in the form of it`s leader, Patrick Brown.

Patrick Brown of the Ontario PC's becomes an all inclusive "gender-bread" loving guy ...

Yes. Another of my heroes has fallen to the "equality" based LGBQT2IXYZDoubleB agenda. really, there's too many letters and numbers in all that stuff. When Patrick Brown became the replacement for Tim Hudak, he came out strong against Kathleen Wynne's Sex Ed curriculum update developed by now criminally charged pedophile, Benjamin Levin. However, likely in light of trying to steal a new voter base in the homosexuals who LOVE their lesbian premier, he's flipped flopped and is now Mr. inclusive.

Here is the full text of Patrick Brown's abandonment of traditional PC values and his Catholic Faith in endorsing positions contrary to the Catholic Church, from his Facebook feed, of which Facebook is a publicly owned company and entity, and Patrick Brown's "vote for me" page is view able to the public who has a Facebook(TM) account :

Dear friends,
I’ve said that I’m a pragmatic Progressive Conservative.

It means being willing to change your mind when presented with compelling evidence.
And accepting good ideas no matter where they originate. There are plenty of political experts who will say this is weakness. I think Ontarians are more reasonable.

Yes, my views on Ontario’s sexual education curriculum—and similar issues—have evolved.
I opposed the changes to the curriculum when they were first announced. They were undeniably controversial and Kathleen Wynne failed to explain it adequately to parents. Even Dalton McGuinty backed away from implementing them.

Time and the evidence of my own eyes tells me that I was mistaken. Concerns were exaggerated and have not borne out. I’ve met with many educators, parents, and school boards—some of whom opposed the curriculum—and they are satisfied with how it’s been implemented. Further, I have since come to the conclusion that significant opposition to the curriculum was rooted in a refusal to accept LGBT elements into the curriculum.

It’s not the first time I’ve been on the wrong side of an issue. In 2006, as a young MP I voted for a motion to reopen debate on the definition of marriage. Like many people, I’ve been shown countless times in my life by friends, family, and those I love how wrong I was to take that view. Today I strongly support marriage equality. It doesn’t matter who you are or who you love and no government has any business saying it does.

As I said last month, and as I will continue saying, while I deplore the absence of consultation with parents, I strongly support the updated sex-ed curriculum. I will never support removing LGBT sensitivity or combating homophobia from schools. It is important to have sex education to combat homophobia, and raise important issues like consent, mental health, bullying, and gender identity.

The curriculum must take into account changing attitudes and the world in which children will grow. They are being asked to understand challenging topics in ways their parents were not.

I'm sorry that Mr. Fonseca and members of his group are upset. But I'm running to lead all Ontarians.
And while I stand for consultation, it doesn’t mean opening the door to intolerance.
If the price to be paid is that my political opponents will say I’ve “flip-flopped,” so be it. If you want a rigid ideologue as premier, vote for someone else.

I am determined to lead an Ontario PC Party that is modern, inclusive, pragmatic, and that reflects the diversity and values of our province. To me that means one that is fiscally conservative and socially progressive. I was proud to be the first PC leader to march in the Toronto Pride parade. I was proud to be the first MP in Barrie's history to attend a pride flag raising. It’s who I am.

My Commentary:

What a shame. I truly thought Patrick, having been educated at my high school Alma Mater, St. Michael's College School, and being of what I thought was strong, "conservative" values, was going to be an excellent counter to the fiscal waste and mismanagement, lying, blatant cover up of evidence government of Kathleen Wynne, who also wants to indoctrinate your kids with her sex ed curriculum. I thought that the average family and the future for youth would have been priority one for his mandate as the new PC leader. Nope, I was wrong.

Nope. Mr. Brown abandoned his faith at the halls of St. Mikes the minute he graduated from the school and never re-discovered it again. Sadly, he was taught the version of the grade 12 Catholic Morality course I received, which would have included teachings on moral and ethical topics such as abortion, euthanasia, and heterosexuality, of which the teachers at St. Mikes PROPERLY teach what the Church believes on those areas. Newsflash ... it isn't the garbage Mr. Brown is peddling. Then again even the best Catholic schools, private ones too, cannot protect young men if they choose to be tempted by Satan, the world, and the flesh. Free will, right? The Church can't force people to obey (though RMTs highly WANT to police the Church though ...)

Unfortunately, Mr. Brown's ideals above also mean accepting actions that go part and parcel with the homosexual lifestyle in such "sensitivity" and also .... attacks the Church in that it violates its central teachings of the family as central to God's plan.

Politically, what this shows is he's willing to bend to ANY group just to get votes for the party, will change his belief system even to the affect of violating his own faith to do so, and clearly does not VALUE the sensitivities of the heterosexual families who make up the majority of voters in Ontario. He is also ironically, being a heterophobe in his support of the homosexuals. In terms of getting money and votes, he would have better spent his time peddling to teachers and unions, who, guess what, mainly consist of families, even if they endorse the homosexual tolerance agenda.

Well, I said my peace on his vote for me FB page, and told him off rather curtly. He probably doesn't even respond directly on it, and has someone working for him be a moderator, not to mention many people share my sentiments. I even said I hate the Ontario PCs because of him.

As for how I will vote in future elections, I will be basing it on the party that LEAST violates my beliefs and morality and conscience. If that means NONE of the three major parties, and it is a wasted vote, than so be it. I would rather vote with my conscience and bear the penalty of the majority vote, than to be a willing accomplice to this man's immorality. Also as part of that calculation will be who will be protecting my rights as a husband, future father, worker, and citizen of this province of Ontario, as well as who will be carrying out the mission of the Church in areas such as social justice, but no one area will be to the exclusion of any other.

In the end, you must choose who is the most Christocentric party, who best will express the teachings of the Church ... or at the very least, commit the least evils upon the family, the poor, the marginalized, etc. and the consciences of the citizens of this province of Ontario .... ALL OF THEM!

BTW might I comment that our economy is a spinning top shape, with the majority of taxpayers being from the middle class ... with families. The homosexuals might be spread all over, but you know who the majority of the taxpayers are. If you truly care about the poor and marginalized, who do you think would be able to contribute the most donations to the Church and the taxes of the government for social programs and welfare? ..... middle class families. It`s your biggest tax pool.

Everyone ... I am afraid that most of us, cannot even trust a single party to vote for. Do not vote necessarily for the PCs, unless they are the best of the three parties. No party, is free from corruption, two-faced ness, lies, scandal, etc. All we can do it collectively, protect ourselves after doing research on each party's platform, campaign, record of successes and failures, fiscal management (and/or lack thereof,) etc. and most of all, who will protect our rights as Catholic citizens of Ontario, and who will look after Christ little ones ... the poor, the children, the mentally challenged (sure as hell NOT Kathleen Wynne who came close to cutting off funding for autistic children! Had the parents of those kids not protested ....) etc.

Now ... I cannot even trust the PC party of Ontario to do even the littlest of what I mentioned above. What a sad future I'll have to entrust to my future children.

Sadly in dismay and shock, at the evil and falling of another "c"atholic "brother" of mine in the Church, Julian.

P.S. Don't count on any Canon Law 915 cries being heard. I know some of you, both foes and friends, are thinking that! BTW, to anyone of you who will use my posting ... You only have permission to do so upon citation and weblinking to this post. Don't forget to also weblink to Patrick's FB post with the link above.

P.P.S. Darn! I should have remembered THIS highly relevant nugget of wisdom from a fellow blogging brother of mine, The Spirit's Sword! Please reread and visit his blog in the post ... not to mention he has two books for sale online. He has a good Catholic family people ... a family being ignored by our current government, and will be ignored by Brown's future PCs.

Highlight: Homily from Pope Francis Regarding the Deadly Sin of Envy

Hello Everyone,

It seems that as of recently, around my life, but also sadly in the life of the Church, many people, those who should know better, are being sorely tempted by the Devil and associates. Many a loose tongue is flying around, slandering, gossiping, and doing the Evil One's work.

I see this most recently in the Church in light of a couple of issues. First, Benedict Emeritus XVI came out with a new book with Peter Seewald, post-retirement from the Papacy. Right away a number of Radicals Misrepresenting Traditionalists bashed his Holiness Emeritus, accusing him of being a coward because he revealed after his last WYD, he couldn't travel. Instead of chalking it up to health issues, they go for the jugular instead of their former Trad Hero who "saved" the Latin Mass because they think his "cowardice" led to "Pope Francis the Destroyer" being put into power.

Secondly, someone either leaked or posted a pastoral letter the Pope gave to some bishops back in his home country for their bishop's conference. Because it dealt with communion and remarrieds without annulments (w/divorces,) and how to implement 'the most heretical document that has evuh been released by the Church,' Amoris Laetitia, the RMTs screamed bloody heresy and accusations foul of His Holy Father, for dealing with a situation pastorally, despite it using something called the "Internal Forum" which is acceptable in certain circumstances in the Church when applied properly, as discussed here by GladTrad Fr. Mcdonald of Southern Orders.

As for personally, myself and a few other friends of mine are coming under attack by forces we can discern is not of Christ, from those who seem friends and "good" Christians, but are truly doing the Evil One's work with loosened and foul tongues of slanderous/detracting nature, and gossip. Between our work for a living, our spare time, and personal challenges, it seems like the Lord is allowing us to undergo these times of trial, bringing us closer to our Faith and showing us what is His Work, and what is not. He certainly is testing our faith. We know, though, that as he showed the disciples in the Gospel with the crashing waves that stormy day (Mark 4:31-41,) when you have true Faith and love of the Lord, the most violent storms will be dissipated by Him, who is our Sovereign King!

In light of the nastiness flowing about, both online from these RMTs and from those in our personal lives, allow me to repost a valuable catechesis shared to me by one of my Catholic friends from our Holy Father. What great timing! Thanks for the gift! My emphasis will be bolded and red coloured text, occasionally underlined too. Deo Gratias. Pax, Julian.

Pope: jealousy and envy are sins that kill with words

(Vatican Radio) Pope Francis celebrated Holy Mass on Thursday, the feast of Saint Agnes, Virgin and Martyr. In his homily, the Holy Father prayed that God might preserve us from the sins of envy and jealousy – ugly sins that kill others with words and that exist even in our Christian communities.

Envy is an ugly sin that grows like a weed
The first reading (1 Sam 18:6-9; 19:1-7) tells the story of Saul, the king of Israel, and his jealousy towards David. After the victory over the Philistines, the women joyfully sang, “Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.” From that day forward, Saul looked on David with suspicion, fearing that David might betray him. Ultimately, Saul decided to kill him. Later he followed the advice of his son and reconsidered. But his wicked thoughts returned. Jealousy, the Pope said, is “a sickness” that returns and brings with it envy:

How ugly envy is! it is an attitude, it is an ugly [DEADLY] sin. And jealousy or envy grows in the heart like a weed: it grows, but it doesn’t allow good plants to grow. It harms everything that its shadow seems to fall upon. There is no peace! It is a tormented heart, it is an ugly heart! But the envious heart, too – we hear it here – leads to killing, to death. And Scripture says clearly: through the envy of the devil, death entered the world.”

Envy kills, even in our communities
“Envy kills,” the Pope said. “It does not tolerate others having something that I do not have. And it always suffers, because the heart of an envious or jealous person suffers. It is a suffering heart!” It is a suffering that desires “the death of others.” “But how many times,” he asked, “in our communities – and we don’t have to look too far to see this – are people killed, through jealousy, with the tongue? Someone is envious of this, of the other, and they begin to gossip – and gossip kills”:
I too, thinking and reflecting on this passage, invite myself – and everyone – to see if, in my heart, there is any jealousy, any envy, which always leads to death and doesn’t make me happy; because this sickness always leads us to regard the good others possess as if it were against us. And this is an ugly sin. It is the beginning of many, many crimes. Let us ask the Lord to give us the grace not to open the heart to jealousy, not to open the heart to envy, because these things always lead to death.”

Jesus handed over out of envy
Pope Francis concluded by noting that Jesus was handed over to Pontius Pilate because of the envy of the chief priests and the scribes:

“According to the interpretation of Pilate – who was very intelligent, but a coward – envy was what lead to the death of Jesus: the instrument, the ultimate instrument. They handed him over out of envy. Let us also ask the Lord the grace never, because of envy, to hand over to death a brother, a sister of the parish, of the community, or even someone in our neighbourhood. Everyone has their sins, everyone has their virtues. They are specific to each individual. Look at the good, and do not kill with gossip through envy or jealousy.
